McIvor's make our regular food delivery.  They are a small family business which has been serving the farming and equestrian community for over 50 years.  They only deliver the best quality feeds you require. The lads know the feedroom well and where everything goes!  



Vetinary Practice - Minster Vets

Minster Vets have a superb reputation around the local racing industry.  Their branch practice at Malton offers a full service and they are always happy to give assessments and advice for any concerns we have for the athletic racehorses we work with.

Kate Cockerell​ - Race Day assistant

Kate joins us for our race meetings, preparing the horses and collecting the saddles.  She enjoys leading the horse and jockey into the winners enclosure after the race!


Aaron James - Assistant Trainer & Amateur Jockey

Aaron often rides out, in between his work for other yards, and gets to know the horses well.  He helps Suzzanne prepare the horses for races and as Amateur Jockey he rode the first winner for Newstart Yard on Stamp Duty at Wolverhampton in February 2012.




Peter France​ - Head Yard Man

Peter is the Yard Man, handy man and true supporter! Peter can often be seen tidying up around the yard and making plans for more improvements.  He will usually be seen at the races meeting with the owners in the parade ring. .



Registered Farrier - Michael Haigh

Mike has worked with Suzzanne in the different yards for the last 15 years. He has a wide range of experience and he enjoys working with our horses.  Mike is always happy to advise on the good health of our horses feet. 

Meet the Team



Pat France​ - Secretary

Pat, a former music teacher in schools, often tries to keep in tune with our accounts and paper work. Pat enjoys giving our yard the tidy, blooming appearance that welcomes our visitors.​​


Vetinary Physiotherapist - Gemma Walker

Gemma is a great link to our success.  She visits our yard regularly and checks our horses for any aches, pains & niggles. Gemma has done massage pressure relieving work for all our winners and has given our horses the comfort and confidence they deserve


Suzzanne France - Trainer

Suzzanne trained at the British Racing School, Newmarket. She was then an apprentice with Nigel Tinkler & Neville Bycroft.  She became Head Lass for Andy Turnell where she helped to train the successful Class 1 winner Blue Bajan. Then as Assistant Trainer for Neville Bycroft she helped train Danum Dancer, winner of the Class 1 Totepool Two-Year-Old trophy

She now trains in her own Newstart Yard.
